Need a certified copy of a passport?

Your passport is usually the first thing that comes to your mind when
you are asked to prove your identity.

Your passport is indispensable when doing any legal paperwork, as is preparing
your legal documents for getting married abroad.

For most wedding destinations you will be asked to provide a passport certified copy.

What is a certified copy of a passport and who can certify a passport copy?

A certified passport copy is a declaration signed by an authorised person stating that your passport is a true copy and you are who you say you are.

In any case, if you are unsure of what the authorities need, having your passport certified by a UK Notary Public will be the safest option. Furthermore, if your certified copy needs to be legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in order for you to obtain an Apostille, only a notarised copy (issued by a UK Notary Public) will be accepted.
