The wedding checklist for legal documentation

The wedding checklist for legal documentation

Decision made ... congratulations!

If you are thinking of getting married abroad there is a chance (if you haven’t already guessed) that there may be some legal requirements.

If you book through a travel agent, they are probably the best people to ask initially.

Why you may ask? They are in daily contact with the hotels and resorts and have up-to-date information.

You may be surprised that in certain cases there are none! Just your passport!

You can contact the embassy of the country you are getting married in direct here in the UK and ask.

TLC UK can help. We run a register of the national requirements and can advise on likely costs. If you’re planning in advance, these can be helpful when setting your wedding budget.

The general advice is that a final requirement check is done 3 months before your wedding date and then ordered.

So if you are in the early stages of planning, relax you have loads of time and if it helps use the FREE TLC UK Wedding Diary facility and we’ll remind you when it’s time to start thinking about it.
