Certified copy of a passport

Certified copy of a passport

‘Half way between a photocopy and the real McCoy’
is how someone once put it to me.

If you have been asked to get or arrange for a certified copy to be sent somewhere, then what you’re being asked to do is provide a copy of your passport which has been authenticated by an approved or recognised official to say it is you.

This function is traditionally performed by a UK Notary Public. You can find one near you by visiting our UK Notary Public directory.

Authenticating or declaring that the copy is a true and accurate copy of the original is the certification bit to make the copy a ‘certified copy’.

A Notary Public is a solicitor who holds an internationally recognised public office. They can authenticate, prepare and certify documents for use anywhere in the World.
