Documents required for two British nationals getting married in Monaco

Single Certificate of Residence (from town hall) + Full Birth Certificate + Customary Certificate
Divorced Certificate of Residence (from town hall) + Full Birth Certificate+ Customary Certificate + Decree Absolute
Widow/er Certificate of Residence (from town hall) + Full Birth Certificate + Customary Certificate + Death Certificate

Special requirements of note:

Birth Certificates must not be issued by the registry office earlier than 3 months before the wedding.

The customary certificate issued by the Consuls of countries of which the future couple are subjects.

If a marriage contract has been made, the couple to be married must produce the certificate of the notary who received it (the marriage settlement used in Monaco is that under which husband and wife administer their separate properties).

A wedding celebrated abroad under local law between a Monegasque and a foreigner or between Monegasque will be valid only if publication has been carried out in Monaco.

One of the two persons must reside in the Principality for at least 30 days prior to the wedding. Staying in a hotel is considered as a residence.

The files must be registered with the town hall at least one month before the date of marriage subject, of course, to the notice period stipulated on the certificate of custom.

Professional soldiers have to provide a written authorization from the military authorities.
