Getting married in Dominican Republic:
legal document requirements
As recommended by Thomson and First Choice
|
You and your partner have decided to get married abroad and have chosen a wedding in the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic wedding requirements (like most destinations) will vary according to your personal situation. Your life history (single, divorced etc) determines which legal papers you will need to have translated and legalised. This process needs to be done precisely and accurately to avoid any disappointments on your wedding day. |
Some of the research you have done already may have left you a little confused, as the planning and completion of your Dominican Republic wedding documents require visits to the Dominican Republic Embassy in London and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in Milton Keynes. This can be time consuming and costly (depending on where you live and have to travel from). |
So what are the legal requirements for getting married in the Dominican Republic? |

Below is a table listing the Dominican Republic wedding requirements. These are for two British nationals marrying. If you are marrying a non-British national, please contact us for further information. |
When getting married in the Dominican Republic you will both have to produce a birth certificate and statutory declaration, these are a standard requirement. |

Please note that the above are national guidelines as issued by the Dominican Embassy. Sometimes, requirements for particular hotels/regions can differ or change from the national guidelines. We strongly recommend that you check with your travel agent or directly with the hotel to get final confirmation on the combination of legal documents you require for your ceremony.

I'm very impressed with the quality of the work you have done. The translated documents were very professionally put-together. I have already passed on your details to my Spanish-based wedding planners so they can recommend you to future clients. I will definitely use you for translation of my wedding certificate. Many thanks.
