You and your partner have decided to get married abroad and have chosen a wedding in the Dominican Republic.

Dominican Republic wedding requirements (like most destinations) will vary according to your personal situation.

Your life history (single, divorced etc) determines which legal papers you will need to have translated and legalised. This process needs to be done precisely and accurately to avoid any disappointments on your wedding day.

Some of the research you have done already may have left you a little confused, as the planning and completion of your Dominican Republic wedding documents require visits to the Dominican Republic Embassy in London and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in Milton Keynes. This can be time consuming and costly (depending on where you live and have to travel from).

So what are the legal requirements for getting married in the Dominican Republic?
