As is the case with so many overseas wedding destinations, there is now

Exactly what do you need to do to get married in Italy?
Getting married in Italy and all the questions concerning the legal paperwork need not be confusing. Italy is one of the few wedding destinations where translation and legalisation of documents is not usually required for British couples getting married. However, you will still need to contact the hotel or town hall where you are getting married in Italy to find out what your exact requirements are.
Your life history (single, divorced, etc) determines which legal papers you will need to present. If you are using a travel agent or wedding coordinator for your wedding, they will also be able to help.

We strongly recommend that you check with your travel agent or directly with the hotel to get final confirmation on the combination of legal documents you require for your ceremony.
Are there any other special requirements to consider when getting married in Italy?
