You and your partner will first need to apply in person for a marriage licence called ‘hindersprövning’ from the local Swedish Tax Office. The licence is usually issued within 7-10 working days and it is valid 4 months.
Requirements vary from one local tax office to another, and some of them do not require translations. Therefore, it is highly recommended that you obtain final confirmation on the exact requirements from the tax office in the region where the marriage will take place.
If you need a Certificate of No Impediment, this cannot be older than 4 months.
